The engagement of Miss Michelle Marie Monier to Mr. Robert Luke Soileau, the son of Nick and Rita Soileau of Ville Platte, has been announced by her parents, Gregory and Tricia Monier of Vidrine.

The couple will exchange wedding vows Friday, August 7, 2009, during a 7 p.m. ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte.

Miss Monier, whose mother is the former Tricia Fontenot of Vidrine, is the granddaughter of Tiny Fontenot, the late Ray Fontenot, Nita Monier and the late Harold Monier.

A 2006 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, she is currently pursuing a degree in pharmacy at the University of Louisiana at Monroe School of Pharmacy.

Mr. Soileau’s mother is the former Rita Manuel of Faubourg. He is the grandson of Donald and Germaine Manuel and Jim and Kat Soileau.

A 2005 graduate of Sacred Heart High School, he received a degree in nursing at Louisiana State University at Alexandria. He is currently employed as an RN with St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.
