St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Grand Prairie provided the setting for a lovely 7 p.m. ceremony Friday, May 1, 2009, uniting Miss Kayla Danielle Doucet and Mr. Michael Hunter Fontenot in holy matrimony with Father Mark Melancon officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Danny and Donna Doucet of Grand Prairie. The groom’s parents are Michael Fontenot of Eunice and Brenda Fontenot of Cecilia.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in her white, one-piece, strapless, A-line gown. The gown was enhanced with a button over zipper closure, beaded lace accents, and bustled Sonata taffeta skirt.

Mandy Petry of Barstow, California, and Nicole Berard of Grand Prairie served as matrons of honor for the special occasion. They wore floor-length, spaghetti-strap, chiffon gowns accented with a beaded empire waistline.

Bridesmaids were Blair Vidrine of Baton Rouge and Victoria Petry of Barstow, California. They were attired identically to the matrons of honor.

Bradley LeBlanc of Lafayette served as best man for the evening ceremony.

Groomsmen were Josh Fontenot of Cecilia, Jarod Begnaud of Breaux Bridge, Jean Douet of Youngsville and Damien Doucet and Brandon Berard, both of Grand Prairie.

Ushers were Brad Beal and Kalyn Doyle.

Jersi Fontenot served as flower girl and Dylan Doucet served as ring bearer.

A reception followed at St. Peter’s Church Hall.

Following a wedding trip to Toledo Bend, the couple has made their home in Lafayette.
