Verna Mae Spell

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 2:00 p.m Mass of Christian Burial  for Verna Mae Spell, 65, who died Monday, October 20, 2008, at her residence in Rayne.

Interment will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou.

Surviving are daughter, Kimberly Simon and husband Gerald of Rayne; daughter, Angie Thibodeaux of Rayne; daughter, Pamela Babineaux of Rayne; son, Jason Spell of Rayne; son, Tyler Spell of Rayne,; son, Charles R. Spell Jr. of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Corey Simon of Rayne, Trevor Simon of Rayne, Patrick Thibodeaux of Rayne, Taylor Thibodeaux of Rayne, Shayna LeBlanc of Rayne, Dylan LeBlanc of Rayne, Danika Spell of Mire, and Misty Spell of Opelousas; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Spell, Hayven Spell, Haylie Ozenne, Makayla Ozenne, Maycee Ozenne and Kaden Comb; sisters, Verline Chapman of Vidrine, and Emma Lou Robinson of Rayne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Spell, Sr.; and  parents, Hector Dupuis and Irene Granger Dupuis.

She was born Saturday, September 18, 1943 in Rayne, daughter of the late Hector Dupuis and the late Irene Granger Dupuis.

A rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008.

Friends were received Wednesday, October 22, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. until services Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.
