St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Abbeville provided the setting for a lovely 7 p.m. ceremony Saturday, May 19, 2012, uniting Miss Lindsey Beth Thomas and Mr. Adam Joseph Fruge’ in holy matrimony, with Father Richard Broussard officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Peggy and Gerald Duplechin of Pine Prairie and the late John Thomas. The groom is the son of Tina Luce of Kinder and Sweony Fruge’ Jr. of Eunice.

The church pews were decorated with hand-made pew markers from the groom’s family.

Given in marriage by her step-father, the bride was radiant in her ivory-colored, silhouette ballgown of satin. The gown featured a modified crumb-catcher top, beadwork under the bustline, at the hip and along the chapel-length train.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory and green tulips and hydrandea wrapped with Tiffany blue ribbon.

Liza Fontenot of Baton Rouge served her sister as matron of honor for the special occasion. She wore a Tiffany blue-colored, one-shoulder strap cocktail-length gown accented with a rhinestone brooch at the shoulder. She carried a bouquet of ivory and green hydrangea wrapped with lace.

Bridesmaids were Lanie Ledoux of Point Blue and Lori Askey of Bayou Chicot, sisters of the bride; Lauren Oray and Monica Azzalini, both of Baton Rouge; Tabitha Miller of Mamou and Allison Fruge’ of Kinder, sister-in-law of the bride. They were attired identically to the matron of honor.

Isaac Luce of Kinder served his brother as best man for the evening ceremony.

Groomsmen were Michael Venable of Baton Rouge, Brandon Fontenot of Lafayette, Cade Marcantel of Sulphur, Jeremy Johnson, Jordan Shirley of Broussard and Jed Griffiths of Kinder.

Ushers were Greg Berman, Tyler Enicke, Johnathan Lemoine and Jeff Fontenot.

Flower girls were Averie Johnson and Harley Duncan.

Ring bearers were Ezekiel Richard and Caden Askey.

For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother selected a dark purple, tea-length gown with a matching bolero jacket which was embellished with rhinestones at the neckline and edging of the jacket.

The groom’s mother selected a black beaded top with black chiffon pallazzo pants.

A reception followed at Magdalene Place in Abbeville. The hall was accented with tall, long-stem tulip centerpieces and green hydrangea centerpieces. The eight-layer wedding cake was made by the groom’s family.

Following a seven-day Caribbean cruise, the couple has made their home in Baton Rouge.
