The engagement of Miss Amanda Rachel Mayer to Mr. Lucas Jordan Deville, the son of Chris and Dawn Deville of Ville Platte, has been announced by her parents, Bernie and Maureen Mayer of Washington.

The couple will exchange wedding vows Saturday, August 11, 2012, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte.

Miss Mayer, whose mother is the former Maureen Vidrine of Ville Platte, is the granddaughter of Jessie Vidrine, the late Melvin Vidrine, Vivian Aymond and the late Norris Mayer.

She received a bachelor’s degree from LSU and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Mr. Deville’s mother is the former Dawn Bittner of Lafayette. He is the grandson of L.G. “Teet” Deville and Ruby Deville and Blaine and Shirley Bittner.

He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is currently employed with Teet’s Food Store.
