The Ville Platte Minors (Farm Team) will make the trip to Ponchatoula to battle for the state tournament. The minors won district easily and have a good shot of doing well in the state event. The three-day event begins tomorrow and fingers are all crossed that the weather keeps the rain away.

Ville Platte begins play in Bracket C. They will have to win their bracket in order to advance to the single elimination bracket of champions. That action begins Friday at 6 p.m. for Ville Platte. They will take on the All Stars from Benton. On Saturday, the Ville Platte boys play at 1 p.m. They battle the Concordia Parish All Stars. Later that night they will meet the All Stars from Thibodeaux.

Ville Platte has to win their bracket on Friday and Saturday in order to advance to Sunday’s action. If they do, they will meet the winner of Bracket B at 1 p.m. Sunday. The championship game will begin 30 minutes after the semi final game is completed.

Ville Platte won the Dixie Youth State Title the first three years the tournament was in existence. This year they have a strong shot to do it again.

Good luck boys.
