UPDATE#3 Soileau has been captured. Details will be provided at a news conference to be held at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at the Evangeline Parish Courthouse. The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, Evangeline Parish District Attorney’s Office, U.S. Marshals, and the Louisiana State Police will participate in the news conference.

UPDATE#2: The following Evangeline Parish schools are on lockdown as the manhunt for Brian Keith Soileau continues: Vidrine Elementary, Central Elementary, Pine Prairie High School, Bayou Chicot Elementary, Ville Platte High, Ville Platte Elementary, Christian Heritage Academy and James Stephens Montessori in Ville Platte.

UPDATE: Authorities are currently searching for Brian Soileau on Redlick Road near Turkey Creek. Officers received reports of a tan truck with a silver cover traveling in that area.

A man identified as escaped bank robber Brian Soileau held up Guaranty Bank in Vidrine about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

He escaped in a tan pickup with a van cover and was said to be headed west toward LA. 13.

Officials warned that he was armed and considered very dangerous.

Soileau, who has a $5,000 reward on his head for information leading to his arrest, escaped last week from the Pine Prairie Correctional Center by climbing over razor wire.

He has been on the lam since.
