The Evangeline Parish School Board learned test scores would be released Friday during its meeting Wednesday, August 3.

Mike Lombas, personnel and secondary supervisor, said LEAP and GEE test scores for the summer program would be released Friday, August 5. He said many parents in the parish have been asking about these test scores.

In other business, the board also learned Ville Platte High School and Mamou High School were both in need of a band teacher.

Also, Superintendent Toni Hamlin said an assistant principal was needed at Mamou High School. She informed the board she would be appointing Liz Chatelain as interim assistant principal. This was done, she said, with the recommendation of Principal Charles Hazzard.

Hamlin also discussed scheduling a policy meeting for next week. She stated there are a number of new policies that will need to be added for the upcoming school year. No official date was set for the meeting.
