VP eight-year-olds head to Pineville

After going through their district tournament with a perfect record, the Ville Platte eight-year-old all-stars are heading to the state tournament in a quest to qualify for the world series. The event is set for Pineville and begins tonight.

The VP boys will compete in Bracket A and must win their bracket in order to make it to the championship double elimination bracket which is scheduled to begin Saturday night at 6 p.m. The finals of the state event are set for 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Ville Platte begins play tonight at 7:30 p.m. against Moss Bluff American.

Friday the action continues when they will take on the third place team from District Four at 11:30 a.m. Later that afternoon, Ville Platte meets the fifth place team from District Five at 3:15 p.m.

Ville Platte begins play very early Saturday with a 9 a.m. contest against the fourth place team from District Eight. They round out bracket play with a 12:45 p.m. game against the second place team from District Five.
