Greater Golden Light Baptist Church in Basile provided the setting for a lovely 4 p.m. ceremony Saturday, July 21, 2012, uniting Ms. Debra Ann Goodley and Mr. Mark Fontenot in holy matrimony, with Pastor Gregory Fontenot officiating.

The bride is the daughter of the late Ellis and Elizabeth Goodley. The groom is the son of Lloyd and Sally Fontenot of Chataignier.

Given in marriage by her brother, Gillis Goodley of Chesapeake, Maryland, the bride was radiant in her strapless, A-line gown of satin featuring beaded lace detail and long-sleeve jacket. Both featured chapel-length trains in ivory and champagne colors. She wore pearl drop earrings and a pearl necklace to complete her look.

The bride carried a bouquet of white and red roses accented with lilies, pearls and feathers.

Lisa Fontenot of Reddell served as matron of honor for the special occasion. She wore an apple red-colored, satin, empire-style ball gown with an illusion halter top. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses accented with lilies.

Bridesmaids were Dana Calvin, Maya Bushnell and Sarah Fontenot, all of Chataignier, Yvette Jones of Eunice and Logan Thomas of Reddell. They each wore a black, satin, empire-style ball gown with an illusion halter top and carried a bouquet of white, red and black roses adorned with rhinestones.

Kenneth Fontenot of Ville Platte served as best man for the afternoon ceremony.

Groomsmen were Rev. Marcus Calvin Sr., Marcus Calvin Jr., Ray Charles Fontenot Sr. and Quinton Bushnell, all of Chataignier, and Russell Goodley of Lake Charles.

Ray Charles Fontenot Jr. served as escort and usher.

Flower girls were Daylin Calvin and Chloe Fontenot.

Ring bearer was Kason Scott Jones Bushnell.

A reception followed at the Northwest Community Center. The hall was decorated in a red, black and white theme. Guest tables featured tall glass vases filled with red and white flowers accented with greenery and water beads. Varying size candles also accented the guest tables, which were covered with black tablecloths topped with white damask overlays. Red rose petals were scattered all around the center of the tables.

The couple has made their home in Chataignier.
