Dear Editor,

What a wonderful community!

The generosity of our local community is always so overwhelming. Everyone gives from the heart and it means so much to the volunteers of Family Hospice of Mamou. Because of the love of this organization, the donations exceeded our expectations. So many donations were picked up for our raffle that we are able to have another raffle in March of 2011.

The winners for the September raffle were as follows: first place was Theresa Guillory of Ville Platte, winning the rocker recliner donated by Bordelon’s Furniture. The second prize winner was Heather Guillory of Mamou winning a butane burner donated by True Value of Mamou and a large black pot donated by Paul’s Meat Market from Ville Platte. The third prize winner was Sharon Berzas of Mamou, winning a $50 gift certificate from Walmart in Eunice. Thank all of you for purchasing tickets from all volunteers.

Thank you so very much to all the merchants who so graciously donated to our organization and they are as follows: Industrial Supply, Paul’s Meat Market, Weelo’s Grocery, Vidrine’s Ace Hardware, Floyd’s Record Shop, Merle Norman, K & B Grocery, Ardoin’s Salvage, Cajun Smoke House, Guillory’s Wholesale, True Value, Bordelon’s Furniture, Brown’s Furniture, Frenchie’s Restaurant, Deshotel’s Pharmacy, Lahaye’s Pharmacy, Reed’s Pharmacy, Savoy Drugs, Sabine Bank, Guaranty Bank, Citizens Bank, Super Eight Motel, Jimmy’s Customs, Assured Medical, Soothing Hands Message and also to Rose and Bruce Campbell, Donald Miley, Suzanne Aguillard and Eleanor and Elaine Johnson. The assistance we give to our patients could not be possible without all of you! Again, thank you so very much from all of the volunteers of Family Hospice of Mamou.

A special huge thank you to Lewis Jacobs who donated his time and also the material to build a ramp at the Hospice House. What a blessing you are Mr. Jacobs. We appreciate it so very much.

With gratitude forever,

Judy Guillory

President,

Volunteers of Family Hospice of Mamou
