Soileau was sentenced on charges of armed robbery, for which he received 60 years; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, for which he received 10 years; and unlawful use of a weapon, for which he received two years. All three of these sentences will run concurrently.
In addition, he was sentenced on charges of simple burglary and theft of a firearm, for which he received sentences of 10 and six years respectively. Those two sentences will run concurrently with one another, adding up to a total of 70 years at hard labor for the five charges against him.
Soileau has not yet been sentenced for his escape from the Pine Prairie Correctional Facility, which occurred in October 2011, as well as an additional armed robbery of Guaranty Bank while he was a fugitive at large.
Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac was pleased with the sentence and was thankful for his staff and their hard work in this case.
